The Re-Gifting Program
Southington Community Services accepts donations of unused items for our annual Re-Gifting Program year round. If you have a few gifts that for some reason or another were put away and never used, not liked or not needed, drop them off at our office, 91 Norton Street in Plantsville. Some ideas of gift items include candles, jewelry, perfume, gloves, lotions, sports items, decorative items, etc.
The Re-gifting Program is a popular program that allows qualified children in Southington to learn the joy of giving. They are able to shop for their parents, grandparents or caregivers during the holidays. Each child can pick up to three gifts and wrap them with the help of volunteers. Now they have presents to put under their tree for their family.
The Rotary Club of Southington, the Grace Methodist Church of Southington and Puttin On The Ritz partner with Community Services to complete the evening. The Rotary Club of Southington provides the families with a meal, the Grace Methodist Church provides crafts while Puttin On The Ritz paints faces on the children while they wait for their turn to shop.
Santa Claus always makes an appearance, along with his Elf who hands out scarfs and hats to all that attend.
