The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing that a milling and resurfacing project will be performed on Interstate 691 east and westbound in Southington and Cheshire starting Tuesday, April 23, 2024. The project DOT01703602CN consists of milling and resurfacing a 2.66-mile segment of Interstate 691 east and westbound in Southington and Cheshire from the Meriden / Southington town line to the Ten Mile River overpass. This project is scheduled to begin milling by Rafferty on Tuesday, April 23, 2024.

The resurfacing segment of this project is anticipated to begin on Sunday, April 28, 2024, by Tilcon.

This project is included in the District 1, CTDOT 2024 Vendor Resurfacing Program.

LANE CLOSURE INFO:

Motorists can expect lane closures on Interstate 691 east and westbound in Southington and Cheshire from the Meriden / Southington town line to the Ten Mile River overpass. Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will guide motorists through the work zone. The night work schedule for this project is Tuesday, April 23 to Sunday, April 28, 2024. The resurfacing segment of this project is anticipated to begin on Sunday, April 28 to Thursday, May 2, 2024, by Tilcon 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m., Sunday – Thursday.
